Hydroponic Vertical Growing Modular Farm

This summer, we will be installing a Hydroponic Vertical Growing Modular Farm designed to thrive in even the world’s harshest climates. Growcer farms can be installed in just one day and deliver reliable, consistent yields year-round—regardless of weather conditions.

Each modular farm features up to 2,600 planting slots, capable of growing over 140 varieties of produce and yielding more than 800 mature plants every week. By growing food locally, the system uses significantly less land and up to 90% less water than traditional farming methods, while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing overall production efficiency.

Designed for ease of use, Growcer farms can be operated by individuals with little to no technical experience. Comprehensive training and ongoing support ensure operators can confidently manage day-to-day operations and provide fresh, healthy food to their communities year-round.

Proven by more than 70 growers across Canada, this technology has already helped communities sustainably feed themselves. Our project will improve access to nutritious, locally grown food while reducing vulnerability to disruptions such as droughts, supply shortages, and rising transportation costs. Less spoilage and lower overhead allow us to keep food affordable and accessible.

Once operational, the farm will produce approximately 10,000 pounds of fresh produce annually. Distribution will prioritize equity-deserving groups, including youth through our school lunch program and low-income individuals and families through donations to the local food bank—strengthening local food security and community resilience.

This project represents a $515,540 investment in our community, with $386,655 (75%) funded by the Government of Canada through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Local Food Infrastructure Fund. This support enables us to build resilient local food systems and increase long-term food security for our community.
